What if I forget my password to the Volunteer Portal?
If you forget your password, simply click on the "Forgot Password" button on the Volunteer Portal login page and fill out a few details so we can get you the information you need. If you forget your email address, please call a VNA Meals on Wheels representative.
When should I sign up for a one-time route and when should I sign up for a recurring route?
Sign up for a recurring route if you can drive that route on a regular basis (e.g., once a month, twice a month, etc.). Sign up for a one-time route to deliver for just one day.
Who can see all of my volunteer information in the portal?
If you are an individual volunteer, only you can access your information via the portal. If you belong to a volunteer group (e.g., church, business, etc.), your group coordinator will be able to see your email address and phone number so they can contact you. The group coordinator will also be able to see and update your profile information for you, which includes information like name and address. This helps VNA Meals on Wheels make sure they have the most up to date information.
How can I easily see routes that are open in my area?
Through the Volunteer Portal, you can see and sign up for open routes in your area for any given day by clicking "Add a Route" on the Routes tab. You will also receive weekly emails that list immediate needs. You will be able to sign up for these routes through the email with a click of a button!
Can I see my clients' information on the portal?
We will not show you client names or information to protect client privacy, but you can see a preview of your route by taking a look a the map on the route details page.
What do "Impact Metrics" show me?
Impact Metrics, located in the top left corner of the dashboard on the Volunteer Portal, show you how many routes you personally have driven and how many meals you personally have delivered.
Is the map on my route details page showing the exact route I'm driving?
Since routes may vary slightly from day to day, the map on the route details page will give you a preview of your route. Please refer to the manifest at the drop site to make sure you have the most up-to-date information.
Where do I go to see every delivery I'm signed up for during the next year?
By clicking on the Calendar tab at the top of your screen, you'll be able to see a month view of all deliveries. Purple indicates a route to which you are assigned. Use the arrow (">") at the top of your screen to scroll through the months.
I'd like to create a delivery group with VNA. How do I get started?
Thanks for your interest! If you are already registered, you can quickly set up a volunteer delivery group through the Portal by clicking on your name in the top-right corner of your screen, and then selecting "Create a Group." If you have not registered, Choose "I Want to Create a New Group," enter all information, and submit. A member of VNA's Volunteer Engagement Team will reach out to you for next steps.
As a group coordinator, can I assign more than one volunteer to a delivery schedule?
Yes, you can assign as many volunteers as you would like to any given delivery schedule or day within your group's routes. Click "Add Volunteer" on the details page for the route you would like to assign.
As a group coordinator, can I add, modify, or remove group routes from the Volunteer Portal?
In order to change a group route, you will need to contact VNA for assistance. You can quickly reach out to us through the Help Page by clicking on the question mark in the top-right corner. And remember, you can add a personal route outside of your group at any time by clicking "Add a Route" on the Routes tab!
Does VNA organize special events for groups?
Yes! We would love to help you organize a special event or project according to your group’s interest. Examples of events include assembling emergency meals for clients, writing encouraging messages on “Positive Placemats,” or creating colorful, handmade greeting cards to brighten up VNA's clients' holidays throughout the year. If I'm part of a volunteer delivery group, can my group have multiple group coordinators?
Yes, your group can have as many group coordinators as you would like. Please contact VNA through the Help Page of the Volunteer Portal (accessible through the question mark icon on your navigation menu) to set up additional group coordinators!
As a group coordinator, what happens if I decline a volunteer's request to join my group?
Don’t worry, if you decline a volunteer, they will be in good hands! Volunteers that you have declined will receive an email notifying them that they have not been admitted to the group and offering assistance to point them in the right direction.
If you have declined a volunteer by accident, you can either send the volunteer an invitation to join y our group, add the volunteer to your group, or the volunteer can request to join your group again through the form on the landing page.
Can I join multiple volunteer groups?
Yes, you can be a part of more than one volunteer group! You can join a new group from your Volunteer Portal by clicking on your name in the top-right corner and selecting "Join a Group" from the drop-down. Just search for your group and request to join.
What is a Day of Caring?
A Day of Caring is an opportunity for you and your group to all serve together on the same day to make a big impact on the Dallas community. You can help organize a Day of Caring for your group or business by clicking on your name in the top right corner of the Volunteer Portal, selecting "Create a Group," and clicking on the Day of Caring "Sign Up."

Which browsers are supported by the Volunteer Portal?
For the best experience, please use Google Chrome or Firefox to access the Volunteer Portal. Internet Explorer is not officially supported and may not permit certain functionality.
